Register for March Chapter Meeting

Hello all and happy March. Spring is almost here – then again, some may say it has been here all winter!

March is Ethics month for the CPCU Society and as usual, our March chapter meeting will also align with this topic. Join us on March 16, from 11:30 – 1:00, at EMC Insurance to listen to speaker Kathy Carroll Karpowicz, Director of Ethics at Unity Point Health.

In addition to our chapter meeting, The Institutes is also hosting two free webinars this month related to ethics. The first is on March 15 at 1:00, titled Ethical Decisions of the Future.

The second is on March 21 at 1:00 and is titled Ethical Issues Facing Leaders Today. Both webinars count towards the CE for CPCUs program. To sign up for the webinars, or to review the entire list of upcoming webinars, go to www.cpcusociety.org/education-events/webinars.

Speaking of webinars, did you know that The Institutes offers over 50 FREE webinars each year to paid members? There are a lot of new benefits provided to members including a 25% discount on state CE and a 35% discount other certification courses and study material from The Institutes. There are also a lot of great publications offered 14 different interest groups. If you haven’t looked in a while, take a moment to review your benefits at www.cpcusociety.org.

One last opportunity, in which registration is currently open, is the 2017 CPCU Society Leadership Summit. This year’s Summit is in Baltimore from April 20 through 22. Registration is completely free, including breakfast and lunch! The Leadership Summit is a great opportunity to learn more about the operations of the CPCU Society, network with peers from chapters around the country and the world, and attend relevant and up-to-date trainings and seminars.

Are you looking to get more involved with the chapter? We have several opportunities available including Golf Committee Chair, Ethics Committee Chair (this is a perfect month for someone to step up and take this spot!), Good Works Committee Chair, and others. Please reach out to me

([email protected]) or any other board member for more information. You can also complete a form on our website at www.cpcu-iowa.org/leadership/chapter-volunteer-opportunities. This is a great opportunity to obtain leadership experience and further your networking with your local industry peers.
