In case you are not familiar with this cause\, Meals from the Heartland is a wonderful non-profit organization founded locally in September of 2008.  The goal of this organization is to package meals for delivery to starving people around the world.  Last year\, over 14\,000 volunteers packaged 4.5 million meals that were shipped to Haiti\, Jamaica\, South Africa\, and New Mexico.  This is one of the largest humanitarian events of its kind in the United States. Did you know that 18\,000 children die each day from hunger-related causes?  Please consider volunteering a few hours of your time to help make a difference.  Get to know your colleagues on a whole new level! Since that time he announced his candidacy for President of the United States. We were contacted last week by his campaign and were told that Newt would have to withdraw from appearing at our Convention as Fox TV has scheduled a Republican candidate's debate that day in Orlando\, Florida.
