Fall has officially arrived, finding the Iowa CPCU Chapter in full swing!Our October meeting was held at the newly remodeled Des Moines Botanical Center on October 15th. Dr. S. Elwynn Taylor, Iowa State University Professor of Agronomy and Extension Climatologist, provided some interesting historical facts about climate change and its impact on agriculture. Some very interesting weather trends have developed over time.
Also during the October meeting we voted to approve the slate of Officer and Director Nominees for 2016. Vice President – Adam Haugerud, Secretary – Stephanie Wells, Treasurer- Chris Murphy, Director of Internal Operations – Brad Soma, and Director of Communications – Dan Mulcahy. These individuals will take their professional oath during I-Day on November 12th, and will assume their respective offices on January 1st, 2016.
We are accepting nominations for the Iowa Chapter CPCU Excellence Award. The recipient should portray excellence through dedication to insurance education and professionalism, and should have made contributions to our CPCU chapter. We have several activities planned over the next 45 days. Please join us for the following events:
I-Day on November 12th held at the downtown Des Moines Marriott. I-Day is the place to learn and network with your fellow insurance professionals, and meet the new designees.
December 17th at 3pm, we will gather at the Wakonda Club for some networking and holiday cheer! Callista Gould will present on Business Meals and Meeting Etiquette.
